ARE YOU STRESSED?

This is probably a ridiculous question to ask you.

Of course you are. Everyone is stressed in our society. This is a rather bold blanket statement to make, you may be thinking. Possibly, but it is based on unquestionably sound science.

You may be stressed in many ways but there are four different categories of stress. You may be stressed by chemical influences – imbalanced nutrition, accumulation of toxins in the body and infections; electromagnetic stressors – mainly artificial radiations or e-smog; physical and structural challenges – deformities, structural imbalances, injuries; and by mental-emotional traumas or conflicts ie psychosocial stress.

In various ways you are, as you read this, being stressed to some degree through each of these four categories.

These stressors that confront you trigger within you adaptive coping mechanisms that maintain balance (homeostasis). Actually, a moderate amount of stress is good for you and even necessary as it stimulates and strengthens your in-built coping mechanisms. So, even if it were possible to remove all stress from your life, it would probably be a very counterproductive exercise.

The big question you need to ask yourself here is: “Am I coping with my stress sufficiently to keep myself healthy or am I accumulating a stress load and heading for major health problems?” You are able to adapt quite amazingly to all manner of stress; but how close to your limits are you?

Heaps. In order for you to destress yourself you need to know firstly what the major sources of stress are for you. You need to hit the nail on the head, not beat around the bush with this. It’s far too important to be ignored or for a half-hearted approach to taken. In short, you need professional advice.
